Snowfall : from 25 to 40 cm/24h. Major disturbances in traffic are possible. Wet snow can cause the breaking of branches and trees. Intermittent local electricity supply is possible. Windy weather will cause snowdrifts.

Before leaving home, find information about the drivability of roads, as some road sections may be impassable. Fill up your tank with fuel. Take more time to travel and adjust your driving to road conditions. Expect major hold-ups and potential obstacles. In the event of windy weather (bora), count on snowdrifts. Have some food and drinks and a warm blanket in your vehicle. Pedestrians should use particular caution on slippery surfaces and uncleared pavements; count on possible snow falling from roofs. Shake the snow off fruit and ornamental trees. It is recommended that you follow meteorological updates.

Glaze Black ice / freezing rain : from 5 to 15 mm/24h. Roads and pavements are covered in ice. Tree branches break. Some electrical installations may be bent or broken.

Get a supply of spreading material.
During the event:
Great caution is recommended when walking in the open and driving in affected areas. Walking crampons are recommended for necessary walking. Make sure that roads are driveable before setting off in a vehicle. Lingering under trees and in the vicinity of electrical installations is not recommended. Walking in forests is not recommended.

Coastal Event (Orange)
The sea floods the low-lying parts of the coast. Material damage to vessels and vehicles is possible; parts of coastal roads, walking paths and older piers are flooded. Beginning of sanitation problems in coastal towns. Sea access is significantly hindered.

Avoid locations at risk. Avoid walking by the sea. Check the road drivability and access to locations. Avoid driving on flooded coastal roads, park your cars in parking lots that are not in the immediate vicinity of the sea. Remove cars and other objects from the broader coastal area. Owners of vessels should check the situation in berths. Follow the information about potential problems with public utilities and sewerage systems.

Before the event, or upon warning by public services,
timely check the vessels in berths and anchor points. Prepare vessels and other objects for stormy conditions. Park your cars in parking lots that are not in the immediate vicinity of the sea. Remove all objects, devices and pleasure crafts from the coast.

During the event:
Do not sail out on any vessel and do not swim in the sea! Avoid moving by the sea, especially lingering in the leeward parts of buildings, treelines and billboards; any works at heights should be stopped; do not repair the damage to vessels and other objects during the storm. We recommend great care in traffic on coastal roads, especially in crosswind and in exposed areas (e.g. by jetties, breakwaters with rock rubbles, piers); expect felled trees or broken power lines and stranded vessels.
We recommend that you take great care and monitor the development of the weather situation and consistently follow any instructions of the bodies of the Civil Protection and Maritime Administration.

Wind (Yellow)
Maximum wind speed : from 70 to 85 km/h. Wind sways trees and may break branches. It impedes road traffic of certain categories and may hinder movement to some extent. The sea is fairly rough (3).

Before the event:
Close all windows and doors. Stow or fasten anything that could be carried away by the wind. Check the situation of vessels in berths.

During the event:
Doors and windows should be kept closed. When moving in the open, pay attention to possible falling objects. Stop all work at heights. Do not repair damage during the event. We recommend additional caution in traffic, especially in crosswinds and in exposed areas (e.g. bridges, cuttings). Caution is recommended in water sports. Less skilled sailors should not sail out. Swimmers should stay close to the shore.

Wet snow can cause the breaking of branches and trees and damage to power lines. Intermittent local electricity supply is possible. The risk of avalanches in the mountain regions is aggravated.

Replenish stocks of food and drink before the start of heavy snows. Travel only if necessary. Before leaving home, find information about the drivability of roads, as some road sections may be impassable. Fill up your tank with fuel. Take more time to travel and adjust your driving to road conditions. Expect major hold-ups and potential obstacles. Have some food and drinks and a warm blanket in your vehicle. Do not go on tours in medium and high mountain ranges. Count on possible snow falling from roofs. It is recommended that you follow meteorological updates.

Avalanches (Yellow)
The snowpack is only moderately well bonded on some steep slopes, otherwise well bonded in general. Snow avalanche risk level - MEDIUM - (according to 5 levels of the European avalanche risk table) LEVEL : 3 °. Triggering is possible with high additional loads, particularly on the steep slopes indicated in the bulletin. Large natural avalanches not likely.

Heightened avalanche conditions on specific terrain features. Evaluate snow and terrain carefully; identify features of concern.
